According to authorities, Thursday, a woman was set on fire over a land dispute in Jharkand’s Bokaro.
The woman, identified as Anisha Parveen, suffered severe 80 per cent burn injuries, after which she was rushed to Bokaro General Hospital for immediate medical attention. However, she kicked the bucket soon after.
A video of the incident has gone viral, wherein the woman is engulfed in flames, and struggles to put out the fire.
Following her death, police personnel immediately reached out to the public.
Bokaro Superintendent of Police (SP) Priyadarshi Alok said, “A case was reported yesterday where a woman was set on fire. Following her statement, a case has been registered against four people at the police station.”
“The woman died during treatment and a video of the woman being burnt is also going viral,” the police official added.
According to the police, the case appears to be a result of a family dispute and a land conflict and further investigation into the case is underway.
