Among the final ten nominees for the CAF women’s Player of the Year award are Super Falcons stars Asisat Oshoala and Chiamaka Nnadozie. The 2023 CAF awards are set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 11.
On Monday, the African football governing body announced this via its X account. Nnadozie, Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne, and Christy Ucheibe were all on the full list of award nominees that CAF revealed earlier.
For her fifth consecutive year, Oshoala was named the CAF Women’s Player of the Year in 2022 after defeating Grace Chanda of Zambia and Ajara Nchout Njoya of Cameroon.
Additionally, Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum was named coach of the year, and players Esther Ajakaye and Deborah Abiodun were named finalists for Best Young Player of the Year.
Also, the Super Falcons team made the finalist for the title of women’s national team of the year. According to CAF, the winners of each category will be determined after the votes of a panel composed of the CAF Technical Commission, media professionals from Member Associations, head coaches and captains of Member Associations including clubs involved in the group stages interclub competitions.
