Ex-Beauty Queen Damilola Otubanjo wants a seat at Ogun State House of Assembly

Damilola Otubanjo is a former beauty queen, fashion entrepreneur and humanitarian who is running for a seat in the Ogun State House of Representatives.

She is doing so under the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.

Education and Career

Damilola Otubanjo has a degree in Physics with Electronics from Olabisi Onabanjo University. She also has another degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from Kingston University, United Kingdom.

Before starting her fashion and beauty line called MILORLA, she won the maiden edition of the Sisi Oge beauty pageant in Lagos State.

Ms Otubanjo also has experience working with the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

She was also the Head of the Department of Solar in the Lagos State Electricity Board, where she oversaw all Solar systems installed in Government Schools and Primary Health Care Centres across the state.

A humanitarian, she founded The PinkDove Charitable Initiative in 2008, a registered non-governmental organisation that aims to mentor young people in their chosen career paths by creating clubs in secondary schools and undergraduates.

UNICEF has trained her and, through The PinkDove, has empowered about 2000 youth.

Campaign

An indigene of Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Ms Otubanjo, is running for a seat to represent her constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly come 2023.

This was announced in a town hall meeting at the end of 2021.

Commenting on her political ambition, she said:

“I have tall dreams and I want to see them fulfilled”.
