On November 10, 2023, a judge reportedly granted Keke Palmer a temporary restraining order against Darius Jackson, as well as sole custody of their son, Leodis, until further notice.
Jackson is not permitted to be within 100 yards of Palmer or their son and was told to turn up a firearm to the local police authorities. It also forbids him from getting in touch with Palmer in any manner.
Keke Palmer had earlier filed for a restraining order against Darius Jackson, and sole custody of their 8-month-old baby, Leodis on Thursday, November 9 as reviewed by Us Weekly.
Palmer, 30, accused Jackson, 29, of beating her many times throughout their two-year relationship.
However, Jackson has denied all of Palmer’s allegations.
Palmer stated that she has security tape from a November 5 event in which Jackson “trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent” and “threatened” her before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.”
In addition, she claims that Jackson has engaged in “many instances of physical violence,” such as “destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting [me] in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”
The temporary restraining order will remain in place until a final hearing on the matter is held. The case is scheduled for a hearing on December 5, 2023.
According to Palmer’s declaration, their relationship “finally ended for good” in early October “primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted” by Jackson.
After months of rumours regarding her and Jackson’s relationship status, Palmer has filed a lawsuit against Jackson over his comments about her outfit at an Usher event. Palmer wore a black bodysuit with a sheer black polka dot cover-up at the Sin City event.
When Jackson received criticism for his views, he instead doubled down on his stance and then deleted his social media accounts.
Palmer, for her part, shared more images of herself from the occasion without responding directly to Jackson’s posts, which raised eyebrows.
“I wish I had taken more pictures but we were running late! I am telling y’all right now, if you haven’t seen @usher YOU MUST GO!! HE WAS SO FABULOUS!! Giving theater, Atlanta downnn, tips and tricks and just absolutely iconic,” she captioned an Instagram post. “I was truly inspired as a performer. I whooped some ass in spades too! Where is that pic of us all together with the King himself??”
Palmer collaborated with Usher, 45, a month later for the “Boyfriend” music video, in which they addressed Jackson’s criticisms of her attire.
Palmer ignored a query the next month as to whether or not she was still seeing Jackson. “I’m going to take a page out of Beyoncé’s book — mind y’all’s business,” Palmer said during an interview on Today With Hoda & Jenna. “Yes, life is good. I have nothing but gratitude, honestly. Seriously.”
Palmer and Jackson tried at first to keep their relationship private after they began dating in August 2021.
The difficulty of concealment increased, Palmer remarked in 2021 on The Tamron Hall Show. Because of the amount of time we spent together and the fact that he is my closest friend, I decided I couldn’t keep a secret that made me happy any longer.
She added: “It’s not gonna be everything you see, my job is my job. But at the end of the day this is somebody that is important to me so why not.”
