The Nigerian Army has announced that the application period for non-tradesmen and women to join this year’s recruitment class has begun, and would end on October 10, 2023.
The Army announced the opening of online applications on Tuesday via X (formerly Twitter), where they stated that anyone interested can do so without cost.
“This is to inform the general public and all interested applicants that the online application for the 86 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen & Women has commenced,” the Army said.
“Application starts on September 25 and ends on October 20, 2023. Application Is Free at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.”
“Shortlisted candidates will participate in the State Recruitment Screening Exercise scheduled for 6 – 19 November 2023. Nigerian Army Recruitment Is FREE, Beware of Fraudsters.”
Online applications can be made through the recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng, as stated on the official website of the Nigerian Army.
Applicants should fill out the application, submit it electronically, and print out a copy.
The next step is to print out the Guarantor Form and fill it out completely. Applicants are expected to bring completed Application Forms and Guarantor Forms to one of the state’s official recruitment centers.
The Army requires applicants to be single, born and raised in Nigeria, and in possession of a valid National Identity Card/NIN or BVN.
“Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit in accordance with Nigerian Army Standards,” the Army said.
Applicants need a valid birth certificate or age declaration certified by the National Population Commission, a hospital, or the local government council, and they can’t have any felony convictions on their record.
Candidates must be at least 1.68 meters tall for men and 1.65 meters tall for women, and have a valid certificate of state origin.
For non-tradesmen and women, the minimum age to apply is 18; for tradesmen and women, it’s 22; and the maximum age to apply is 26 as of 18 December 2023.
Nurses and midwives who are under the age of 30 who have their registered nurse or midwife credentials may also apply.
A total of four passes at the WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB level must be earned in no more than two sittings.
A Trade Test/ City Guild Certificate, e.g., is required of all trades men/women in addition to the aforementioned requirements.
From September 25 through October 23, eligible applicants can register for the NA online recruitment database via the website https://recruitment.army.mil.ng.
The State Recruitment Screening Exercise will take place from November 6-19, 2023, for those who have been shortlisted.
