Nollywood Actress Cindy Amadi Passes Away

On Thursday, the producers of the film “Ifé” posted an Instagram message announcing the demise of actress Cindy Amadi.
Directed by Nse Ikpe-Etim’s sister Nyaiedu Ikpe-Etim, “Ife” starred the late Amadi alongside MTV Shuga’s Uzomaka Aniunoh.
They wrote, “We are greatly, deeply, and unbelievably saddened to learn about the passing of Cindy Amadi, who played Adaora in #iféthemovie.”
They say Cindy worked her magic on the set and changed their lives forever.
“She was very enthusiastic about developing her craft and growing her career and continuing to showcase her talent. She was well on her way until her untimely passing,” the statement read.
Producer Pamela Adie posted on Instagram that she was saddened by the actress’s death.
“This wasn’t the idea, Cindy,” the producer lamented. “You were thrilled when I assured you we would create the sequel.”
“I’m sorry we couldn’t complete it in time. But we will complete it…for you. Rest in Peace for now,” she said.
In the film “Ifé,” two Nigerian women, Ifé and Adaora, fall in love over the course of a three-day date and work to keep their relationship alive despite the challenges of being out as lesbians in Nigeria.
