Non Tech in Tech, a community that provides resources to people who desire to enter tech jobs via traditionally non-tech roles, has partnered with Empower Her, a tech community dedicated to the growth and progress of women.
According to Non Tech in Tech’s Substack, this partnership involved an eight-week boot camp with the aim of upskilling 1000 women in no-code tech programs.
Some of the learning tracks were Community Management, Growth Marketing, UX writing and Technical writing.
The boot camp opened applications in June and received over three thousand entries in two weeks.
Candidates were then shortlisted to 1000 women and were from 28 countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Cameroon, the United States of America and Jamaica.
Speaking on the partnership, Elizabeth Okaome, Founder of Empower Her Community said, “As a community that is dedicated to the growth of women across the world in the tech space, this partnership serves as a means to train more women.
We also realized that most of these women do not know that there are non-technical skills in tech and many were not in the space because they believe the technical skills are not for them. NTIT grooms fellows in non-technical skills and matches them with possible job opportunities hence the partnership to empower as many women as possible in line with the vision of EHC”.
