Tech Enthusiast and Women’s Advocate Simi Olusola Set To Run For Ekiti State House of Assembly

Simi Olusola is a leading tech enthusiast and founder of Aspilos Foundation, a youth-led non-profit organisation that uses technology to push for digital inclusion, economic growth and good governance.

She is the official PDP candidate running for a position in the Ekiti State House of Assembly with aims to represent Ikere II constituency.

 

Education and Career

She has a Bachelors’ degree in Physiology from the University of Ibadan and a certificate in Social Sector Management from Lagos Business School.

In addition to the above, she has a Masters’ Degree in Data, Economics and Development Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

A leading voice for women in the Nigerian tech space, Ms Olusola has served as a Strategy Advisor for women-led tech organisations like TechHerNG. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a LEAP Africa Social Innovators Fellow. She has also been a State Team Lead for anti-rape organisations like Stand To End Rape.

In addition to running Aspilos Foundation, she is a consultant and runs Nuach Consulting, which helps startups in the areas of Strategy, IT and Human Capital Development.

 

Campaign

In May, Document Women reported Ms Olusola’s win at the polls, securing the People’s Democratic Party’s ticket to represent Ikere II at the Ekiti State House of Assembly by winning 74 per cent of the votes.
