The death of a two-year-old in Hemel Hempstead has led to the murder charges of a 29-year-old woman.
The Hertfordshire Police have announced that Shilyrand Charigwati, a resident of Juniper Square in Hemel Hempstead, made an appearance before Hatfield Remand Court on April 16.
Prior to her April 18 hearing at St. Albans Crown Court, she was remanded in custody.
On Sunday afternoon, authorities were alerted of a medical emergency at a residence on the road, which caused them to respond to the scene at Juniper Square.
An arrest warrant for the 29-year-old woman was issued after authorities determined that a youngster had been transported to an emergency room for treatment, but had passed away shortly thereafter.
“Colleagues from the Dacorum Community Safety Partnership have been informed and are supporting enquiries,” they added.
“An extensive investigation is under way to establish the circumstances around what happened.”
“With this in mind, it’s absolutely vital that people please refrain from speculating about what happened, to allow the investigation and any subsequent court proceedings to take place.”
“Any commentary could have a serious detrimental impact.”
On Sunday, locals saw armed police officers at the site; the Herts Police have since clarified that the officers were sent to stock up on specialised first aid supplies.
